Need some advice on how to handle my employment situation.?

Ok, so I'm going to try to make this the reader's digest story...here goes...I'm 32 years old and was a probation and police officer for about 10 years. I have a B.S. Degree in Criminal Justice. My quickly expanding career in law enforcement was cut short when I was arrested and charged with a domestic situation. I'm going to end up with a misdmeanor on my record, which from what I've heard, shouldn't hinder me too much except within the law enforcement world. Anyways, I'm just past the halfway point of completing my M.S. Degree in Strategic Leadership with a concentration in Organizational Leadership and Business Management. I've landed a good job in the waste management industry and i'm supposed to be transferred within the next year. Problem is, the lease is up in Aug. My family (wife, small child) want to leave this hellhole we live in and move somewhere better. How do I politely ask my employer if they will move me earlier? If they won't, then I have no problem leaving...
