Why is it that conservatives purport themselves as the defender of moral values, but don't actually follow?

It's an incredibly hypocritical party. Democrats aren't perfect, but they also don't preach extreme fundamentalist morality. It's the Republican hypocrisy of trying to ram their values down our throats, while refusing to follow their own rules, that is so disgusting.
