Writing an editorial about swine flu?

For English, i am writing an editorial about swine flu. What are some things that i should mention? Is it really that serious? Was this people's reaction at the beginning of the Bird Flu? SARS? Can you tell me anything else helpful or give me some useful links? I would really appreciate it =)
